I Am the Sixth Sun
O great mother, giver of life, death and
rebirth. Great spirit of creativity and
transformation. How long must I remain on
this confinement on earth? When will I
once again feel your loving embrace
of freedom? I yearn to be one with all
once again.
I desire to swing in the breezes of the past
that caresses you with memories, to mingle in
the light of the Creator, and radiate in the
sunlight of wisdom. I long to dance the
mystical dance of consciousness, to the rhythm
of darkness, and sing the sacred songs of
awareness to the rules of the cosmos.
I feel and see the footprints of my
ancient walk in life, and I speak of them
to the shadows of my mind. But my self
does not yet speak the words that open the
door to the mystical realm that began with the
first steps we planted on our land, as one (Aztlan).
I, and my spiritual Mexika (Me-sheek-a) soul
have walked as one, have journeyed through life
and death, and death to life, have created and
uncreated worlds. We have walked where earth
meets sky, and have walked within
five suns, that I and my spiritual soul will
walk once again as one.
I am here by destiny (Tonalli), once again not
to witness, but to awaken myself to the long
awaited Sixth Sun.
I am the consciousness of life and death, and
death to life. I am the awakening of oneness.
I am what you truly are. I am the image of
Smoking Mirror. I am the footprints of the
beginning and the end. I am the consciousness
of the Sixth Sun. I am one with the great mother
and great spirit. I am the Sixth Sun!
"We are waking up to the truth that we are indigenous.
We are Indians, and we are native to this land (Aztlan).
"We are not all Mexikas, but we can all certainly claim a Mexika consciousness."
